Dong got his bachelor, master and doctoral degree in Shandong Agricultural University, China, between 1988 and 1998. Then he did two-year postdoc research in Zhejiang University, China. Thereafter, he got associate professor position in 2001 and full professor position in 2004 in College of Agriculture, Nanjing Agricultural University (NAU), China. He is now head of the Wheat Eco-physiology and Production Group in NAU.
His research interests
include the eco-physiological bases of wheat quality formation and the
regulatory approaches for high-quality and high-yield wheat, the abiotic stress
memory induced by priming and the improvement of tolerance of abiotic stresses
in wheat, and development of wheat phenotying platforms and algorithms.
