On January 13, 2022, Dr. Xu Liu, the Congress Convener of 2nd IWC chaired a preparatory meeting at the Institute of Crop Sciences, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. The leaders of Local Academic Committee（LAC）and Local Organization Committee（LOC）participated the meeting. The progress of the preparatory work for the 2nd IWC was presented and a draft program was discussed. LOC will release the final brief program of 2nd IWC in late February or early March, 2022, due to the unpredictable challenge of COVID 19. A draft video for the opening ceremony of 2nd IWC will be produced to narrate the wheat story from the aspects of route of transmission, progress in research, production future opportunity and challenges.
