Dear participants, Thank you for your persistent support to the 2nd International Wheat Congress (2ndIWC). We are pleased to inform you that the conference will be held on 11-15 September, 2022. A hybrid form of in-person and online lectures with online broadcast will be adopted. Both registered international and domestic participants are invited to attend the 2nd IWC online, there is no registration fee for every online participant, oral speaker, and poster presenter.

The International Wheat Congress (IWC) was merged from two original wheat international conferences — the International Wheat Genetics Symposium and the International Wheat Conference. IWC is a biennial event and the 1st IWC was held in July 2019 in Saskatoon, Canada. The 2nd IWC was planned for 2021 in Beijing, but was delayed to 2022 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The theme of the 2nd IWC is “Future Wheat: Resilience and Sustainability” and will provide excellent opportunities for participants from around the world to share the latest progress and to develop recommendations for future wheat in terms of research, technology, and transfer. A hybrid form of on-site lectures and online broadcast will be adopted.

On February 25, 2022, the conveners of the 2nd International Wheat Congress (IWC) - Academician Xu Liu, former Vice-president of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS), Weihong Cheng, the Executive Deputy Secretary General of the Crop Science Society of China (CSSC), and Qin Xu, the Secretary visited Da Bei Nong Group (DBN) to discuss strategic cooperation with the congress.

For any participants who are willing to attend the onsite meeting and host a pre/post conference program during the 2nd IWC, the LOC provides three different meeting rooms available. The meeting room will be open to book one month ahead of the congress and all the cost will be covered by the host himself.

We are pleasant to hear from many experts to enquiry about the 2nd IWC, here we would like to share with you the latest policy for preventing and controlling the pandemic of COVID-19 in China.

The Congress Convener of 2nd IWC chaired a preparatory meeting at the Institute of Crop Sciences, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. The leaders of Local Academic Committee（LAC）and Local Organization Committee（LOC）participated the meeting.

The first IWC was successfully held in Saskatoon, Canada in July 2019, while the second one was originally scheduled to be held in Beijing in September 2021.
