Since 2017, I have been studying the causes of meiotic instability and its consequences in newly formed allotetraploid plants. For my PhD work, I mainly used the techniques of FISH and GISH to identify and analyze meiotic and mitotic karyotypes of a synthetic allotetraploid wheat (genome, SSDD), and analyze possible relevance of parental genomic divergences to meiotic instability in synthetic allopolyploid wheat.
