Akshaya Vasudevan is a PhD Candidate in Dr. Sylvie Cloutier’s lab at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, Ottawa Research and Development Centre and at the University of Ottawa. She is originally from Coimbatore, South India and completed her B.Sc. (Agriculture) degree from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University and did her masters at the University of Saskatchewan. Akshaya’s project falls under the component of the 4D Wheat project to ‘Harness the Diversity of wheat’, specifically to understand the genomic interactions in synthetic hexaploid wheat. Akshaya will be presenting about the quantitative and qualitative transcriptome changes observed upon polyploidization in synthetic hexaploid wheat.
